Two right hands don't intertwine

Greetings!

After a long time I had dusted off my A R Rahman song playlist, with random setting. The first song itself evoked such emotions that, I could not resist playing it again and again. Ended up playing the song 6 times to get a feeling of being filled up with the meaningful lyrics, simple but heart-touching tune, innovative orchestration  and unique voice blends. This intertwined song seems to resonate with cosmic rhythm!

The song is "Rehna Tu" from Delhi 6 movie. You can give an ear to it Here

It is by far the deepest song coming from Bollywood about accepting someone, something,  someplace or some situation wholeheartedly.  It talks about the beauty of letting the others as they are and the complimenting nature of it all. No need to change, better, worsen,  beautify the others even a bit. Whatever combination they be, let them be as they are and that is where the "love" lies.

I have seen 2 general strands of feelings in humans. One strand makes a person sense and commit to others needs. Other makes a person tap into this nature of others and try to fill up the void inside.

This song resonates well when the first strand of feelings is playing on and gives that immense feeling of satisfaction of committing to and rejoicing in "what is". It is nothing less than cosmic resonance!

When the other strand of feelings is dominant, the person tries to find someone who is resonating and try to extract something out of them.

So the same song goes on talking about differences as well, and how these are to be celebrated. But I always felt there was something missing here if the context is the relation between persons with opposing strands. I somehow felt that this song only meant for 2 people who might be entirely different but joined by the first strand of feelings.

In my 6th round of listening to this beautiful song, I guess I found the answer and that too within the song....

It says,

"हाथ थाम चलना हो,
तो दोनों के दाएं हाथ संग कैसे?
एक दायाँ होगा, एक बायाँ होगा,
थाम ले हाथ यह थाम ले,
चलना है संग थाम ले|"

Roughly translates to

"If you want to hold hands,
Then how can both hands be right?
One left and another right,
Hold the other hand and join in the lovely flight"

I don't know but here is my guess ... when the first strand of feelings plays in both, they automatically will bring out the other hand to hold on instinctively. A right for left and a left for right. Even when they change sides.

Thus the journey then will compliment each other and resonate to the cosmic rhythm despite ups and downs.

Just like this song's intertwined lyrics, tune, orchestration and voices resonate to the same cosmic rhythm, but more fulfilling as the intertwined lives would be resonating with cosmic rhythm!!!

Sincerely Mine!
